The Murphy Junior High School student government carried out its annual Stuff-A-Bus campaign on Dec. 17, collecting hundreds of toy donations from students across the district. Murphy students rode in a school bus to Mount, Minnesauke and Arrowhead Elementary Schools, collecting donations the elementary students received during their respective toy drives. They loaded up the bus with toys, puzzles, books and games, which will be brought to the Gerald J. Ryan Outreach Center in Wyandanch.

Students across the À¶Ý®ÊÓƵ kicked off the season of giving by participating in Thanksgiving service projects. W.S. Mount Elementary School second graders and their older buddies in fourth and sixth grade classes collected food donations, then paired up to create a basket providing a full Thanksgiving meal. Students also worked with their partners to design Thanksgiving placemats.

At Minnesauke Elementary School, students in Mr. Licausi’s second grade class completed a similar project. The class collected donations to make a basket full of Thanksgiving food items. The baskets created at both buildings were donated to Three Village families in need ahead of the holiday.

Minnesauke Elementary School students are enjoying new sensory boards in the art room. Art teacher Ms. Sacco created the boards for students to access during their scheduled art time. Since the art room is often busy and stimulating, the boards can help students ease their minds.

Ahead of Veterans Day, students across Three Village participated in activities and service projects to thank local veterans. At Arrowhead Elementary School, students wrote cards of gratitude and designed posters to be donated to the Northport VA. Similarly, at Minnesauke Elementary School, fourth graders created posters and cards for the residents at the Long Island State Veterans Home in Stony Brook.

At Minnesauke, Mrs. Beck and Mrs. Henkowitz’ fifth grade class also made goodie bags and placemats for Veterans Day and Thanksgiving. Tracy Bogush, a Minnesauke staff member, volunteers at Cooking for Long Island Veterans and takes the bags and placemats when she delivers food each week.
